California, Keep Your Prisoners

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa...no, this isn't going to work. California needs to keep their prisoners to themselves and figure out a better solution to the over crowding in their prison system.

Hmmm, here's a thought - start executing MORE prisoners. Or send them to Mexico or OTHER countries. Or maybe the Army and Marines would like a few thousands new soldiers for the Iraq and Afghanistan war on terror. There are many other solutions to the over crowding in California prisons, just don't ship them out to OTHER STATES! Yeah, it's costing California tax payers $51M a year to send them to other states.

From The Birmingham News....

NBC to feature Mountain Brook High School and 'Mockingbird'

Mountain Brook High School’s joint production of the play “To Kill a Mockingbird” with Fairfield Preparatory High School is getting national attention.

This weekend, NBC Nightly News and the Today Show will both feature stories on the play, which casts students from both schools; the students were invited to meet author Harper Lee and even offered to put on a special performance for her, but she was unable to attend. National Public Radio also plans a feature on the production.

The play opened last night and has additional showings at Mountain Brook High on Saturday at 2 and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Public tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door; call 969-2374 for tickets.

The Pope's New Ride

I knew I went with the right car dealer - Volkswagen - when I chose my new car.

Only I have a Jetta, not the very expensive luxurious Phaeton that the German auto maker GAVE to the Pope. I'm sure the Pope's version has a lot more perks.

Still, it's a nice car. I looked at one on the show room floor. Sweet. I told the kids one day we would have one of those cars. HA! For now though, I think I might be able to afford ONE OF THESE instead, which I think is very cool. But they will probably get banned in public arenas.

Israel Will Soon Disappear

What is this dude's problem? Does this go way back to biblical times?
He's at it again, only this time it is back to back speeches, I think. I just posted one about him yesterday evening and now this morning I see this new one in my news reader. He seriously needs to get a grip, or someone needs to get a grip around his neck.

Article title: Israel Will Soon Disappear.

After reading ALL of the article, I found this very interesting. And I do believe we need to keep an eye on Russia. I personally don't trust any of 'em.

Here is a snippet from the article,

{....Britain's ambassador said he expects a draft U.N. resolution on Iran to be introduced in the Security Council early next week. Diplomats said it will seek sanctions on Tehran for refusing to suspend uranium enrichment.
France's U.N. Ambassador Jean-Marc de La Sabliere had said Tuesday he hoped to circulate a draft by the end of the week. But France, Britain and Germany, who have led negotiations with Iran on its nuclear program, were still discussing the text with the United States on Thursday, and had not yet shown it to Russia and China.

Russia is building Iran's first, $800 million atomic reactor and has impeded U.N. sanctions against Tehran. It has also agreed to resume shipment of fuel for the reactor, which experts say could be diverted and used to build bombs....}

I usually don't do foreign blogging that well but I am going to keep up with this one, or at least try to because this just doesn't sit well and it's kinda gettin' scary.

Maybe Russia, France, and Iran think we are too distracted with Iraq and Afghanistan not to notice what may be going on in the next room? Yes, I included France in that mix.
